Dr. Yasi Shamtoub, PhD
Dr. Yasi Shamtoub is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist based in Southern California, offering therapeutic services at Oro House Recovery in Malibu and in her private practice.
She views therapy as a dynamic and individualized process, blending experience, intuition, and creativity with the unique personalities and traits of both patient and clinician to foster meaningful change.
Dr. Shamtoub strives to create a compassionate and non-judgmental environment where clients can explore their inner worlds deeply.
She employs a holistic and eclectic therapeutic approach, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Art Therapy, and Depth-Oriented Psychodynamic therapies to meet the unique needs of each client.
Her extensive training in depth psychology and psychodynamic therapies, enriched by her personal experiences in psychoanalytic treatment, has equipped her with advanced diagnostic skills and the ability to unravel complex emotional patterns.
This eclectic blend of methods enables her to effectively address a wide range of psychological issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and relationship challenges.
Dr. Shamtoub earned her Ph.D. (2013) and Master of Arts (2009) in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology–Los Angeles (CSPP-L.A.) at Alliant International University, after graduating with Magna Cum Laude Honors from UCLA in 2005.
Her diverse training experiences include school-based mental health, where she integrated art and play therapy, substance abuse programs, and eating disorder treatment facilities. Her post-doctoral position focused on specializing in addiction and substance abuse recovery.
She also has experience providing outpatient services to person’s affected by a loved one’s addiction, including grief counseling.
Outside of her professional activities, Dr. Shamtoub is deeply influenced by her love of music, art, nature, spirituality, and travel.
These interests not only inspire her holistic approach to therapy but also enrich her practice with a blend of thoughtful insight and compassionate care.
