Our experienced and compassionate staff connects with our clients on a deeply personal level to build self-esteem and empower them to live a happy and sober life to the fullest.

The length of stay will vary for each person depending on the nature of his or her substance use, health, individual needs, and recovery progress.

Chef-prepared meals and luxury amenities make it easy to commit to recovery. Our Compassionate Care Model® of addiction treatment ensures our clients feel as comfortable as they do at home, with added extras.

We are committed to a long-term, community-based care program that can be as short as 30 days, and up to 90 days or longer for those who require an extended stay.

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) confirms that programs longer than 90 days have shown to be the most effective for lasting recovery. We agree with NIDA’s principles of drug addiction treatment and follow their guidelines for all of our clients.

We are Joint Commission Accredited and licensed by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) to ensure our clients receive exceptional care for drug and alcohol addiction recovery.

It is an honor to be selected as one of the best addiction treatment centers in the United States in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 by Newsweek and we owe that recognition to our amazing staff and clients.

How Does Inpatient Rehab for Drug and Alcohol Addiction Work?

When calling Oro House for the first time, we will explain how the inpatient rehab program works, answer any questions, and verify insurance coverage and costs that are covered by the policy. We also accept cash payments and can work out many of the details on the initial call or through follow-up calls.

Once an individual has been admitted to our residential inpatient rehab program, our treatment team will perform a full health assessment to determine the nature of the person’s addiction, as well as any co-occurring mental health issues like depression, anxiety, PTSD, or others.

Oro House Inpatient Rehab Treatment Covers:

  • Inpatient drug rehab
  • Inpatient alcohol rehab
  • Both drug and alcohol addiction
  • Dual diagnosis for substance addiction and mental health combined (depression, PTSD, bipolar, etc.)

We create an individualized treatment plan based on the assessment that best suits each person’s needs. Some people may require drug or alcohol detox first to manage withdrawal symptoms, which is supervised in-house by our detox team.

The goal of detox is to ensure our clients are safe and comfortable, with limited side effects from withdrawal.

After detox has been completed, our clients transition to ongoing treatment services in our non 12 step rehab program.

We take an integrated holistic treatment approach that addresses the whole person – Mind, Body, and Soul.

The primary daily schedule includes a mix of one-on-one and group sessions focused on evidence-based treatment modalities such as:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET)
  • Relapse Prevention Therapy (RPT)

Our holistic approach also makes use of alternative healing methods like meditation, yoga, hiking, or trips to the beach. We understand that the benefits of a well-rounded lifestyle are crucial for recovery.

All of our clients have access to addiction specialists and nursing staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during treatment.

When our clients complete the inpatient rehab treatment program, they transition to the next phase of their recovery that can include our outpatient treatment program or a sober living facility if necessary.

Aftercare support, weekly events, and alumni programs are available to all Oro House alums and we can be an invaluable resource for our clients even after they leave our facilities.

What are the Advantages of a Residential Inpatient Rehab Program for Addiction?

There are a variety of ways for people to quit using drugs and alcohol and we support any method that works for each person.

Some individuals do well with 12 step programs that mainly consist of regular group meetings with people who have experienced the same circumstances. Others may only require an outpatient treatment program.

Unfortunately, many people have not found success with group meetings or part-time treatment and require more structure and attention with their recovery.

Outpatient programs and 12 step meetings can be effective for aftercare support, but they often fall short for those who are truly struggling to get clean for the first time, or who have relapsed and need an all-encompassing program to stay on track.

The Oro House residential inpatient treatment program in Malibu and Los Angeles offers the highest level of care for those who struggle with addiction, and others with addiction and a co-occurring mental illness combined.

Our inpatient treatment provides the most comprehensive program available in a luxury setting and allows our clients to focus entirely on recovery without any necessary
